Welcome back readers!
As Thanksgiving is a mere 49 days away, I am already thinking about whom I want to invite into my home. Yes, on this holiday it will mostly consist of close friends and family, but I’m thinking a practice run might be in order. So, guess what folks, if I could have a dinner party with anybody in the world, it would be these 7 people listed below. Your imagination may wander, but I am going to but the kibosh on that and tell you exactly why I would invite these 7 people into my home (apartment…same thing).
1. Jimmy Fallon –
Every dinner party needs a killer sense of humor, and Jimmy Fallon brings that to the table. From appearing in romantic comedies to his own late night talk show, Jimmy’s got it. That “pee your pants” humor that everybody can relate to. Plus, laughing is good for the soul, and his Emmy and Grammy awards can have a spot on my mantle. So Jimmy Fallon, consider this your official invite to my dinner party (you can even bring your side kick Steve Higgins).
2. Sophia Bush –
The woman behind the magic that is Brooke Davis, star of the hit series One Tree Hill, Sophia Bush (round of applause). She is a celebrity, a fashion icon and most importantly, a strong role model for young women. I only slightly stalk her Instagram account and it is flooded with inspiring messages that call women to action. Her positive outlook on life will brighten up any dinner party.
3. Warren Buffet –
I saw him speak once at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His presentation was about how women are important in the work place. I was inspired because lets face it; he’s got the business world figured out. I admire his lifestyle and his professional business choices. Plus, I imagine him and Sophia having a conversation about feminism and the importance of inspiring women. Since this is a strong belief of mine, he is also on the list for my dinner party.
4. Hilary Duff –
Not only is she an avid coffee drinker like me, but she has continued to build a strong career for herself in the entertainment industry. An industry that is infamous for tearing people down and creating falsified stories. She has continued to release albums, star in films and raise her young son all while keeping a smile on her face. So Hilary, I’ll provide the coffee as long as you bring your secret to success.
5. Heidi Somers –
A new passion of mine is lifting. Not lifting groceries out of the trunk of my car or a bag of chips off the counter but hitting the gym lifting. Heidi has made a career out of being healthy. She is an icon for anyone and everyone who wants to make that lifestyle change and see results. She shares her workout routines and eating habits on Youtube and Instagram. This willingness to share her secret to success is why I admire her. She inspires me to be the best version of myself. Hopefully, when she is sitting around my dinner table she will remind me that I don’t need that 12th piece of bread.

6. Walt Disney –
One of the most creative and visionary minds, Walt created an entire world of characters that have entranced children and adults alike for decades. His creativity and passion is what I hope to bring to my life. I say life instead of career because I don’t want my career to feel like work, I want it to be fun. I want it to intertwine with my life and my personal goals. I want to grow as a professional and continue to push boundaries. I imagine Walt giving a toast at my dinner party, inspiring everyone at the table to be the imaginative zealous people that he knows we can be. Here’s to you Walt, for encouraging me to see what I can bring to the world of PR and advertising.
7. Orville Redenbacher –
Because he is a visionary. And I love popcorn. And who knows, he might surprise us with a snack **cough cough** popcorn please! In all seriousness, Orville and Walt would have a killer conversation about innovation and creativity. Instead of wishing I could be a fly on the wall for that conversation, I am just going to invite both of them over for dinner! So pop on over Orville, before the food gets cold!
These 7 people are passionate, creative and driven. Three characteristics I hope to continue to apply in my everyday life. I’m all out of chairs at my table, so who would you invite to your ideal dinner party?
